Why join us

Afraid of public speaking? You’re in good company.

You don’t have to be a skilled speaker to walk through our door. Wherever you are today, this is a safe, encouraging place to get better — one meeting at a time.

Speak with confidence

From your first Table Topic to your tenth keynote, every meeting gives you a safe, supportive stage to practice on — in English.

Grow as a leader

Take on rotating meeting roles — Toastmaster, Evaluator, Timer — and discover how public speaking skills translate straight into leadership.

Pathways learning

Follow the official Toastmasters Pathways curriculum: self-paced online projects that turn real meetings into real progress.

International community

We meet in English, welcome every accent, and share the stage with expats and locals from all over the world — so does our post-meeting café chat.

Zero pressure first visit

Come as a guest, sit back, and watch. You are never asked to speak on your first visit — learn the ropes, then jump in when you are ready.

Real progress, real cheap

Weekly practice for about $10 a month. Compare that to a single coaching session and the value becomes obvious.

What happens at a meeting

An evening of practice, feedback, and friendship.

Our meetings are structured, friendly, and entertaining — a bit like group practice and a bit like a variety show. Plan for about 90 minutes (plus or minus 15).

  • 1

    Prepared speeches

Two or three members deliver short speeches they have rehearsed as part of their Pathways projects.

  • 2

    Table Topics

A fun round of short impromptu speeches — one- to two-minute answers to a surprise question. This is where confidence is really built.

  • 3

    Evaluations

Every speaker gets constructive, encouraging feedback from a trained evaluator. You leave the meeting knowing exactly what to work on next.

  • 4

    Meeting roles

Timer, Ah-Counter, Grammarian, Toastmaster of the evening — rotating roles that sharpen listening, leadership, and attention to detail.

Guest policy: You will never be asked to speak on your first visit. Come, watch, and enjoy. When you are ready to try, we will be cheering you on.

After the meeting: Most Wednesdays a few of us head to a nearby café for a drink or a bite — a friendly, low-pressure chance to keep chatting.

About the club

Marbella’s oldest Toastmasters club.

We chartered as the Achievers Club — club number 5183 — on February 7, 2003. More than two decades on, we are still meeting every Wednesday and still welcoming new members from every background imaginable.

Our members come from across the world. Some are here for a few months, some for a few decades. What everyone shares is a commitment to becoming a better speaker, a better listener, and a better leader — and to having a great evening doing it.

Frequently asked

Think you can’t become a confident speaker?

We’ve heard that before. Here are the questions we hear most often — and the honest answers.

  • Will I have to speak on my first visit?

No. You are welcome to come, watch, and enjoy the meeting as a guest. We will only invite you to speak when you tell us you are ready.

  • How long is a meeting?

About 90 minutes (plus or minus 15). We start promptly at 8:00 PM, so please try to arrive by 7:45 PM.

  • What language are meetings in?

All meetings are held in English. Every level of English is welcome — you will hear accents from across Europe, the Americas, and beyond.

  • How much does it cost?

About $10 a month. Toastmasters International dues are $60 USD every 6 months. Our local club fee is €20 every 6 months. New members also pay a one-time $25 USD joining fee if you have never been in Toastmasters before. Toastmasters is a non-profit — these fees cover materials and the cost of running the organization.

  • Do I have to commit for a long time?

Not at all. Guest visits are free and there is no commitment. Membership is paid every six months, so you can always step away at the next renewal.

  • Do you meet every week, year round?

Almost. We pause for about two weeks around Christmas and pick back up after Reyes Magos (6 January). Sometimees we vote to take a break in August. Otherwise, every Wednesday.

  • What is Pathways?

Pathways is the official Toastmasters learning program — a library of self-paced online projects that you work through at real meetings. You choose the path that fits your goals, from persuasive speaking to team leadership.

  • Is there an age limit?

Members must be 18 or older. Other than that, we welcome everyone — professionals, retirees, students, career changers.
